Long before Taylor Swift was selling out stadiums across the globe, she was a mere extra in a Brad Paisley music video — and Seinfeld star Jason Alexander, who also appeared in the video, recalled working when a then-teenage Swift during his visit to this morning’s episode of The View.

While chatting with co-hosts Whoopi Goldberg, Sara Haines, Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin and Alyssa Farah Griffin, the comedian was questioned about his time directing the “Love Story” songstress back in the 2009 music video.

“I became friendly with Brad Paisley and he asked me to direct and be in a video of his called ‘Online,’” Alexander said. “We had to shoot concert footage of him doing that song and me doing that song.”

He continued, “His band was all guys and I said, ‘You have no women here.’ And he said, ‘Well, we have these two girls. Taylor Swift and Kellie Pickler are my opening acts.’ I went, ‘Well, if they’re happy, get them, let them be on it.'”

With only her debut album on the stands at the time, Swift toured alongside Paisley as his opening act from 2007 to 2008. Following the release of her Fearless album at the end of the year, Swift ultimately headlined her first world tour — where Pickler was also an opening act.

“Taylor was like 17 and already a rockstar, I had seen her act. [She and Pickler] came out and so I put her in I think her first video,” Alexander said, before joking, “And her success is all me.”

While”Online” wasn’t Swift’s first music video — songs like “Tim McGraw” and “Teardrops on My Guitar” came before it — the musician has garnered undeniable success since helping out Paisley and Alexander. Aside from her 10-plus albums, 12 Grammys and countless other awards and record-breaking statistics, her ongoing Eras Tour is reportedly estimated to generate nearly $5 billion for local economies throughout the United States.

I guess it’s safe to say that Jason Alexander knew all too well that Swift would be a star!

The View airs on weekdays at 11/10c on ABC.
