Kelly Ripa Says She Sent Mark Consuelos Out For Peaches But He Came Back with a Boat on ‘Live’

Mark Consuelos is hunky and decisive? Men, take notes! On this morning’s episode of Live with Kelly and Mark, fans learned that Consuelos doesn’t mess around when it comes to making important life decisions — or major purchases.

The Riverdale alum and Kelly Ripa — who have been married for 27 years — opened today’s chat with a lengthy story about their nearly-failed boat trip to see the Fourth of July fireworks this past weekend. But before they got too far into the conversation, they reflected on how they ended up with a boat in the first place.

“I sent Mark out to get peaches because I was making a peach cobbler,” Ripa recalled. “He said, ‘I’m running to the store, do you need anything?’ I said, ‘I need a dozen peaches because I’m gonna make a peach cobbler.’”

She continued, “Oven’s on. Cobbler’s made. Waiting for the peaches. He comes back three and a half hours later with a boat.”

Meanwhile, Consuelos — who assured the audience that he also brought home the peaches — described how he came to purchase the boat.

“I make decisions quick. I don’t waffle. Do you know what I mean? I know what I want. I found this one, I married her immediately. I don’t mess around. I’m decisive,” he said, to which Ripa joked, “You were going out to buy sneakers and you came home with a wife.”

It’s funny because he’s not kidding! The couple first met on the set of All My Children in 1995, before tying the knot one year later in a “drive-through” Las Vegas ceremony, as they previously described on Live. Luckily, Ripa added that people who get married in Vegas usually “stick” together.

“We met other couples who got married there who have also been married for thousands of television years,” she joked.
