Jonah Hill‘s ex-girlfriend Sarah Brady is claiming that he was “emotionally abusive” in their relationship, which went public in August 2021.

In a series of Instagram Stories posted between Friday and Saturday, the surf instructor shared a few screenshots of various text messages the You People actor sent to her.

“This is a warning to all girls. If your partner is talking to you like this, make an exit plan. Call me if you need an ear,” Brady wrote, sharing text messages from Hill asking her to remove any surfing photos from her Instagram showing her “a** in a thong.”

Brady says that she ended up removing “all the posts” and Hill allegedly told her it was a “good start,” but he said she didn’t “seem to get” his point.

“But it’s not my place to teach you. I’ve made my boundaries clear,” Hill wrote. “You refuse to let go of some of them and you’ve made that clear and I hope it makes you happy.”

Brady shared another text where Hill reportedly said that if Brady wants to surf “with men,” “to model,” “to post pictures of yourself in a bathing suit” and “to post sexual pictures,” among other things, that he’s “not the right partner” for her.

The surfer then wrote, “I too struggle with mental health but I do not use it to control [people] like he did to me.”

She added, “It’s been a year of healing and growth with the help of loved ones and doctors to get back to living my life without guilt, shame and self-judgment for things as small as surfing in a swimsuit rather than a more conservative wetsuit. And I’m sure there’s still much more healing from this abuse ahead of me.”

Brady then shared alleged DM’s from Hill, in which the actor appeared to be flirting with her in response to her surfing photos.

“Sharing this publicly now because keeping it to myself was causing more damage to my mental health than sharing it could ever do,” she added in another post.

Brady then touched on Hill having a baby with girlfriend Olivia Millar earlier this year, writing, “I hope my ex has a daughter.”

“Maybe she’ll turn him into a real feminist,” she continued, “because the fact that he calls himself a feminist now is laughable.”

In another post, Brady said, “If I could have one wish for him it would be that he is surrounded by feminist men who can hold him accountable to grow in the ways he has expressed he wants to.”

“I think fame can put people in an echo chamber of viewpoints, which can enable emotionally abusive behavior,” she continued.

Brady’s last post on the subject said “someone being an emotionally abusive partner doesn’t mean they’re a terrible person (often stems from their own trauma) and at the same time it doesn’t mean it’s ok.”

As a reminder, Jonah Hill released a documentary on Netflix titled Stutz in November 2022, in which he touted working on himself in therapy and how helpful his therapist Phil Stutz has been while navigating his mental health challenges.
