Ginny & Georgia is back this week on Netflix and they’re definitely not reminding us of the Gilmores anymore, mostly thanks to the murder they’re covering up. We’re also pumped for a few new shows this week, including Amazon Prime Video’s Scottish horror The Rig, and Showtime’s latest sports doc, Boys In Blue. Not sure where to start? Let us here at Decider help you figure out what to watch this weekend and where to stream it.

New on Netflix January 5: Ginny & Georgia Season 2

Ginny Miller (Antonia Gentry) discovered that her mother Georgia (Brianne Howey) might have actually killed her husband at the end of season one of Ginny & Georgia, and now that knowledge is threatening to tear the previously loving duo apart. Season two of the hit Netflix series picks up where we left off, with Georgia newly engaged to the mayor, and Ginny and her brother running away from home and staying with Ginny’s dad. Will Ginny threaten to expose her mother’s secrets, or will she protect her mother despite knowing she’s a killer?

New on Prime Video January 6: The Rig

The Rig is Prime Video’s first production filmed entirely in Scotland, some of it even shot on location at an oil rig in the North Sea. The supernatural thriller is a who’s-who of actors you’ve seen elsewhere: Schitt’s Creek star Emily Hampshire, Game of Thrones‘ Iain Glen, Mark Addym and Owen Teale, and Kingsman actor Calvin Demba all star as workers who become trapped on an oil rig with no communication with the mainland. They’re forced to survive with one another while also struggling to survive amid a supernatural mist that engulfs them.
