Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3

Powered by Reelgood

Whether you’re looking to watch the latest Marvel release about a group of heroes who have helped save humanity, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, or a low-key indie about the end of humanity, Biosphere, there are some great new movies on VOD to check out this weekend.

And if neither of those appeal to you, you can check out The Blackening, a horror comedy about a group of Black friends whose celebratory Juneteenth weekend away turns deadly when a killer begins to prey upon them. The stacked ensemble cast of the film includes Yvonne Orji, Sinqua Walls, Grace Byers, and Melvin Gregg.

These are just a few of the titles that are available to watch on Amazon Prime Video, iTunes, YouTube, and through your cable service this week. Check out what movies are available to buy or rent on demand now!

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3

Following a theatrical release, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is now available on demand, allowing you the opportunity to be reunited with Rocket (Bradley Cooper), Nebula (Karen Gillan), Drax (Dave Bautista) and Star Lord himself, Peter Quill (Chris Pratt). But if you’re looking to rock out to some sweet ’70s jams, be warned, the soundtrack to the new film (Awesome Mix Vol. 3) has been updated to reflect Peter Quill’s (Chris Pratt) evolving musical tastes. Oh, and Gamora (Zoe Saldana) has been updated to be alive in this version, too.

Biosphere

Imagine that the last two men on earth are Sterling K. Brown and Mark Duplass. Not a bad way for humanity to go out, honestly. In the new film Biosphere, Brown and Duplass play best friends Ray and Billy, who have survived a catastrophic event thanks to a glass dome Ray built which has managed to house all the necessities for survival, but the film goes beyond a two-person post-apocalyptic character study to become an interesting, twist-filled adventure. (Albeit, one confined to a very small glass dome.)
