Yet again, it’s been quite the week for Yellowstone fans. During a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, series creator Taylor Sheridan hinted that the “next chapter” of his Yellowstone saga, a spinoff rumored to star Matthew McConaughey, could potentially lean “heavily, if not entirely, on a new cast and location.”

What exactly does that mean for fan favorites like Beth (Kelly Reilly) and Rip (Cole Hauser)? Nobody knows, with Sheridan telling THR that he has only “the broadest strokes” of the spinoff worked out.

Yellowstone may still be on hiatus, but Paramount Network has started airing episodes of Paramount+’s Yellowstone prequel 1883 on Sunday nights. You can stream episodes of the Sam Elliott-led series live on the Paramount Network website or watch the show on demand with a valid cable login. But let’s get back to the matter at hand, shall we?

When will Yellowstone return with new episodes? Here’s everything we know.

Is Yellowstone on Tonight (June 25)?

Nope. But 1883 will once again air on Paramount Network. If you missed last week’s airing of the first two episodes of Taylor Sheridan’s Yellowstone prequel, they’ll be rebroadcast tonight from 5:30-8:00 p.m. ET. 1883 Episode 3 (“River”) will air from 8:00-9:06 p.m. ET on Paramount Network, with an encore showing at 9:06 p.m. ET.

When Will Yellowstone Return With New Episodes?

The final six episodes of Season 5 were originally penciled in to premiere this summer, but the newest timeline (h/t Deadline) has production resuming in August, with Paramount Network eyeing a November 2023 release date.

The ongoing writers’ strike could obviously impact those plans, with The Hollywood Reporter recently noting that a November 2023 return looks “highly unlikely.” That same THR article also revealed that Part 2 of Season 5 could consist of more than the previously announced six episodes.

“If I think it takes 10 episodes to wrap it up, they’ll give me 10,” Sheridan told the outlet. “It’ll be as long as it needs to be.”
