New Movies & Shows To Stream This Weekend: Extraction 2, The Righteous Gemstones, Outlander + More
Let’s see. An unkillable assassin, an unkillable love affair, and an unkillable religious dynasty. Or are they?!? Guess you’ll have to watch to find out.
New on Netflix June 16: Extraction 2
Netflix’s 2020 action-thriller Extraction starred Chris Hemsworth as Tyler Rake, a former SAS officer and black-ops mercenary hired to extract a kidnapped young man who was held for ransom. In the film’s sequel, Extraction 2, Hemsworth returns, and this time, it’s personal: the people he’s rescuing are his ex-wife Mia’s (Olga Kurylenko) family. Golshifteh Faharani and Adam Bessa reprise their roles for this installment, and Thor is reunited with his old buddy Heimdall, a.k.a. Idris Elba, for this one, too.
New on HBO June 18: The Righteous Gemstones (Season 3)
The world’s worst televangelists, The Righteous Gemstones are back for a new season on HBO. The show about the leader of a megachurch, Eli Gemstone (John Goodman) and his children, Jesse (Danny McBride), Judy (Edi Patterson) and Kelvin (Adam DeVine), returns Sunday with two episodes kicking off season three, and the addition of several big names to the cast. Expect to see appearances from Stephen Dorff, Shea Wigham, Lukas Haas, Sturgill Simpson, and Casey Wilson among others throughout the season.
New on Starz: Outlander (Season 7)
The seventh season of Outlander premieres on Starz this week, with weekly installments dropping every Friday. This season will be based on the seventh book in the Outlander series written by Diana Gabaldon, An Echo in the Bone, and picks up where we left off last season, with Claire (Caitriona Balfe) arrested for the murder of her former assistant and Jamie (Sam Heughan) determined to clear her name, all set against the backdrop of the American Revolution.
