Yes. Like last year’s Flowers in the Attic limited series and the Landry Family limited series from 2021, V.C. Andrews’ Dawn is also based on a series of V.C. Andrews novels (ghostwritten by Andrew Neiderman). The novel Dawn was published in 1990 and kicked off Andrews’ Cutler series of novels. The novels Secrets of the Morning, Twilight’s Child, Midnight Whispers, and Darkest Hour followed from 1991 to 1993. If you look at the list of episodes above, you’ll notice that these four episodes correspond to the first four books in the series. Where does that leave Darkest Hour? It may have been omitted from the TV series narrative since that novel is actually a prequel to Dawn, or maybe elements from it will find their way into the other for episodes.
