Jamie Foxx gave fans a much-needed update Wednesday (May 3) evening when he spoke out for the first time since experiencing a mysterious medical scare in early April.

The entertainer posted a quick statement to his Instagram account, where he thanked his supporters for the well wishes he’s received throughout his three-week hospitalization. “Appreciate all the love!!! Feeling blessed,” he wrote.

He also shared a post from his daughter, Corinne Foxx, in which he thanked Nick Cannon for filling in for him on Beat Shazam Season 6. Foxx and his daughter co-hosted the music game show throughout the first five seasons prior to his hospitalization. Corinne will be replaced by Kelly Osbourne.

“Appreciate ya my boy @nickcannon,” he wrote. “See u all soon.”

There have been multiple promising updates since Foxx landed in the hospital on April 11, but this is the first time we’ve heard from Foxx himself.

Celebrities like Mahershala Ali, Jeremy Renner, Vin Diesel and more, flooded the comments section on his Instagram post to wish him well.

“Sending you strength and love,” Renner commented with a heart emoji. Renner recently experienced his own medical emergency when he was run over by a 14,000-pound snow plow on New Years Day; he miraculously survived and recovered.

Sources close to the situation previously reported Foxx was “steadily improving” in the hospital while undergoing observation and tests. But TMZ reported yesterday that those close to the actor were asking for prayers for his recovery.

We still do not know the state of his condition or what medical emergency Foxx experienced in April. His family and representatives also have not provided any updates.

Beat Shazam Season 6 will return May 23.
