Chris Hemsworth Pokes Fun at Chris Evans’ Sexiest Man Alive Cover on ‘Live’: “Looks Like He’s Being Arrested”

As the Battle of the Chrises lives on, Chris Hemsworth revealed just how he and his fellow Avengers co-stars reacted to Chris Evans‘ Sexiest Man Alive cover while appearing on this morning’s episode of Live with Kelly and Mark.

Hemsworth confirmed to co-hosts Kelly Ripa and Ryan Seacrest — who was filling in today for Mark Consuelos — that there is, in fact, an Avengers group chat between himself, Evans, Don Cheadle, Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson and Jeremy Renner.

When Seacrest presumed that there are likely many conversations surrounding the sexiest men alive, Hemsworth — who won People’s contest in 2014 — quipped, “It’s all about that.”

While the humble Thor: Love and Thunder star joked that the “years have been harsh” on him since he appeared on the cover — to which we respectfully disagree — he said he felt like “a proud father” when Evans nabbed the esteemed title back in November 2022.

However, the A-lister group chat had some other thoughts about the Captain America: The First Avenger star’s photo, where he’s seen wearing a white T-shirt with his hands behind his back.

“Downey shared, ‘Looks like he’s being arrested,'” Hemsworth told Ripa and Seacrest. “I shared, ‘Yeah, it’s one of the most handsome mug shots I’ve ever seen.’”

He later said that Downey — who has surprisingly never won Sexiest Man Alive — is “next” in line, despite joking that he’s already won “in my book.” Meanwhile, Ripa joked, “I bet he has very strong feelings about that. I bet he feels hurt. You should reach out to him today and just double-check — make sure he’s OK.”

As for whether the squad plans to reunite any time soon, Hemsworth disclosed that they just might — although it may be a while before we see them on the screen again.

“We actually have been talking about it, yeah. About just hanging out though — not on a professional kind of work basis. [Like], where can we all catch up and get together?” he said, before suggesting to Ripa that they could all reunite on Live, “if you’ll have us all on.”

Live with Kelly and Mark airs on weekdays at 9/8c on ABC.
