As the kids would say: Whoopi Goldberg‘s got bars! The longtime moderator masterfully ended The View‘s interview with the cast of the upcoming comedy Joy Ride by throwing to commercial break in the form of freestyle rap. (Editor’s Note: This episode is a repeat; the original episode first aired on June 29, 2023.)

Stars Ashley Park, Stephanie Hsu, Sherry Cola and Sabrina Wu stopped by this morning’s episode of the long-running daytime talk show to dish on their new comedy, which follows four friends as they venture across China to find one of their birth mothers.

Co-host Sara Haines brought up the tidbit of information that Wu — a writer, comedian and now, actor — has a secret talent that they show off in the film: beatboxing.

“OK, honestly, I was growing up in Michigan and I sort of thought it would help white people like me more,” Wu said of why they learned the skill, before Haines jumped out of her seat and joked, “It’s working, I love you!”

The co-host then prompted the actor to give the audience a little sneak peek of what they can do.

“Um, I will do it,” Wu reluctantly said. “Can I just say though: out of respect to the beatboxing community, I’m not a real beatboxer. But out of disrespect to the acting community, I am better than most actors at beatboxing. I’m coming for you Justin Timberlake, Justin Bieber, Cara Delevingne.”

They continued, “OK, we’re doing it? Sorry, OK. I’m being a ham. OK,” before breaking out into an impressive beatboxing rhythm.

Of course, Goldberg — being the EGOT she is — seized the opportunity by joining in with her own impressive rap.

Joy Ride … Sneak peaks begin … Nationwide … On July 1 ….  It’s in theaters everywhere … On July 7 … Thank the cast … For coming here … We’re better … Can’t you hear … We’ll be back,” she sang along to Wu’s beat, while the rest of the table jammed out to the impromptu performance.

The View airs weekdays at 11/10c on ABC.
